As a Compliance Investigations Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking investigations into potential breaches of legislation administered by the QBCC, including job site operations and investigative activities under relevant acts. The role involves preparing investigation plans, managing high-volume caseloads, and applying best-practice investigative techniques such as offence elementisation, evidence matrix development, and conducting interviews. You will prepare briefs of evidence for disciplinary, civil, or criminal proceedings, conduct proactive compliance activities including audits and surveillance, and provide advice to both internal staff and external stakeholders on regulatory matters. Representing the QBCC in educational activities and tribunal or court proceedings is also a key component, along with delivering high-quality customer service and supporting the Regional Service Centre's day-to-day operations.
We are seeking candidates with a Certificate IV in Investigation or equivalent qualifications, along with a minimum of three years' investigative experience, ideally in a government or regulatory environment. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong alignment with the QBCC's vision and values, showing resilience, initiative, and a commitment to customer engagement. Your ability to build relationships, communicate clearly, and uphold professional and legislative standards will support your contribution to a safer and more compliant building and construction industry in Queensland.
