As an AO7 Principal Internal Auditor, you will contribute to delivering a program of financial, operational and information system audits with the aim of supporting the Department of Housing and Public Works (HPW) to improve the effectiveness of their risk management, internal control and governance processes.

What you will be doing:
• Lead and execute financial, operational and information system audits.
• Review and provide authoritative advice on the adequacy and effectiveness of business activities including actions to improve departmental performance and accountability.
• Lead a team to deliver quality internal audit services.
• Review and evaluate the effectiveness of management action to address audit observations and recommendations.
• Co-develop a data analytics strategy for the Internal Audit Unit.
• Execute a program of data analytic work, i.e. perform project specific data analytics as well as holistic data analytics focussing on risk, trends and efficiencies more broadly.
• Contribute to the development of initiatives to strengthen the department's governance arrangements and operational performance in relation to risk management, fraud, code of conduct and special investigations.
• Develop and maintain strong networks and relationships across the department and participate in departmental and public sector committees, working groups and other forums.
