Senior Program Officer

As the Senior Program Officer in the Tourism Support Hub you will work collaboratively with other areas of the department, local councils, and industry bodies to identify answers to questions posed by tourism operators and contribute to the development of the tourism industry in Queensland. This role involves liaising with tourism operators to ensure their enquiries are resolved within the Hub’s service delivery timelines. This role also includes input into the Hub’s data management system and contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives.

We're looking for the best suited applicant for the role. As the Senior Program Officer, you will:
• Contribute to the delivery of tourism operator enquiries, including by maintaining documentation to track and report progress of specific activities and enquiries (eg progress reports and evaluation documents) and provide advice to management on these matters.
• Support the management of workloads, meet deadlines and commitments, and complete tasks within a tight timeframe both independently and within a team.
• Provide high level administrative support for projects and programs of work as required.
• Engage with key internal and external stakeholders as required to assist in the delivery of tourism operator support and enquiry resolution, including supporting the development of action plans, guidelines and evaluation processes, ensuring that information is available to assess and meet reporting requirements, and ensuring governance is undertaken to a high standard.
• Assist in the preparation of concise client correspondence as well as ministerial correspondence, briefings, information and review documents.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to share insights, brainstorm solutions, and ensure a consistent approach to case management.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
