You will be coordinating programs and initiatives that enhance First Nations tourism industry development and broader tourism outcomes. You will identify key opportunities to improve delivery of government programs and ensure services are being delivered that contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people utilising your passion, knowledge, skills and experience in delivering government initiatives and services.

We're looking for the best suited applicant for the role. As the Senior Program Officer, you will:
• Contribute to the design, development, promotion and delivery of projects, programs and initiatives that drive Indigenous tourism business development, growth and resilience.
• Manage contracts, agreements and relationships in the delivery of indigenous tourism and event projects and programs.
• Coordinate financial acquittals and payments, and performance reporting of grants and contracts.
• Coordinate and provide administrative support of Indigenous tourism programs including processing of team members' travel, expense claims, information and communication technology needs and other administrative tasks as required.
• Be the secretary for various Steering committees, including the Queensland Indigenous Tourism Government and Industry Reference Group.
• Undertake research and assist in the development of policies, projects and plans relating to indigenous tourism policy and programs.
• Liaise, negotiate and develop effective networks with senior internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, industry, business associations, peak bodies, Indigenous businesses, Prescribed Body Corporates, Traditional Owner groups and other key stakeholders.
• Provide timely, high-level briefings, submissions, reports, correspondence, and presentations on a range of Indigenous tourism policy and program issues to Senior Management, the Minister, other government agencies and key stakeholders.
• Contribute to development and implementation of the Whole-of-Government tourism industry strategy in partnership with the tourism industry and other government agencies.
• Participate in and lead (as appropriate) multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver timely responses to tourism industry related programs and initiatives.
• Represent the department at interdepartmental and interagency meetings and forums as required.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
