Destination 2045 is the Queensland Government’s bold plan to for delivering Queensland’s tourism future and positioning us as a global tourism leader. The plan will enable our tourism industry, doubling the value of visitor expenditure to the state’s economy to $84 billion by 2045 and delivering lasting benefits to Queensland communities.
Operating from within the Industry Programs and Design team, the Program Manager provides both strategic and hands on leadership, playing a lead role in developing and implementing initiatives under Destination 2045.
You will identify key opportunities and develop, manage, promote and design programs and initiatives that support industry development, products and experiences.

We're looking for the best suited applicant for the role. As the Program Manager, you will:
• Lead the development, promotion and analysis of tourism strategy, policies and design for implementation of new programs and initiatives that support industry development, products and experiences.
• Ensure the development of new initiatives adhere to whole-of-government legislative and policy requirements, are co-designed within government and industry, and documentation development and stakeholder engagement are appropriate.
• Effectively manage people, financial and physical resources, underpinned by a culture of client service, continuous improvement and innovation.
• Provide timely, high-level briefings, submissions, reports, correspondence and presentations on a range of tourism program and grant management issues to Senior Management, the Minister, other government agencies and key stakeholders.
• Effectively manage change and resources, underpinned by a culture of client service, continuous improvement according to the Tourism Division Values, Queensland Government Public Service Values and the Reframing the Relationship Plan.
• Contribute to research, analysis and review of tourism product development, business and industry development, innovation activities and other strategic issues.
• Lead the development of new contracts and funding arrangements as required, negotiating key deliverables and terms with external stakeholders, and working with internal areas (program owners, legal teams).
• Represent the department and Government at a range of regional, state and national forums that require a content specific perspective to enhance Queensland's economic competitiveness and performance in relation to tourism industry development and innovation.
• Establish and maintain effective networks with senior internal and external stakeholders (including government agencies, industry and business associations).
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
