Your contribution and key responsibilities:
• Manage a team of professional media, digital and online communication specialists deliver internal and external communication to achieve the Department's strategic objectives and meet whole-of-government requirements.
• Lead, in partnership with business units, strategic communication as well as stakeholder engagement and community consultation strategies.
• Oversee media and external relations including effective issues and crisis management.
• Lead communication services, such as design, online and digital, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy ensuring usability, accessibility and innovation.
• Foster a strong performance-oriented culture that is focused on clients, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement systems to support streamlined communication and marketing approaches across the Department.
• Identifying, managing, and reporting risks relating to their work with the Department.
What we are looking for:
• Significant experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating communication initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in partnership and build influential and productive relationships
• An excellent coach, enhancing capacity by encouraging critical reflection, self-led solutions and supporting others to remain outcome focused when confronted with uncertainty
• Drives ownership and empowers others to manage and report on responsibilities, including sourcing alternative strategies to overcome issues or grow
• Demonstrated high-level contemporary communication experience with a proven record of delivery across disciplines, including project management, insights and evaluation in a communication context.
• Acts in the interests of Queenslanders through quality, right-sized governance and risk management, achieving best-practice communication outcomes.
