An exciting permanent opportunity exists for an experienced and dynamic audit professional to work as part of an Audit and Assurance group at QCS. You will perform and deliver complex internal audit reviews, provide independent and professional advice to senior and operational management, engage proactively with key stakeholders to gather insights and share findings, and contribute to the development/delivery of the Strategic Internal Audit Plan to ensure effective audit coverage across the department that captures current and emerging risks and departmental priorities.

We are looking for an audit professional to fill a permanent, flexible full-time Manager (Audit and Assurance). Formal tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as accounting, business or information technology, together with professional membership and accreditation with a recognised body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants or accreditation as a Certified Internal Auditor through the Institute of Internal Auditors is highly desirable.

You will have strong expertise to perform and report upon complex internal audit reviews, provide independent and professional advice to senior and operational management and actively contribute to the management and effectiveness of the internal audit unit to achieve deliverables.

A key part of this role involves proactively engaging with stakeholders and building strong, constructive relationships across all levels of the agency. You will act as an ambassador for the Internal Audit function, promoting its value and raising its profile through regular communication, partnership, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Through these interactions, you will gather meaningful insights, share findings, and ensure that stakeholder perspectives are reflected in audit planning and delivery.

The successful person will assist the Director, Audit and Assurance (Head of Internal Audit) with activities associated with the development of the Strategic Internal Audit Plan to ensure effective audit coverage across the department that captures current and emerging risks and departmental priorities.

You will also perform and oversee all types of complex internal audit reviews across departmental governance, operations, systems and processes delivered in accordance with agreed budgets.

You will develop succinct high-quality reports supported by risk driven audit programs and evidenced based working papers.
