Senior Program Officer
Investment & Commissioning (PDFV); Families, Seniors and Carers; Commissioning; Brisbane City
This position sits within the Commissioning Division that is responsible for ensuring the government invests in the right programs to meet the needs of people experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence and hold persons using violence to account and support them to change their behaviour.
You will contribute to the implementation of a transformational commissioning plan that will guide the divisions investment approach for the next five years.
You will lead or contribute to service design, development and implementation of departmental and whole-of-government programs and projects aimed at strengthening the domestic, family and sexual violence services delivery. You can expect to undertake a variety of procurement activity with most projects and programs having an outsourced service delivery element.

The Division uses Procure to Invest (P2i System) and SmartyGrants systems to create and manage contracts and grants.
You will have experience in program and/or project management with a demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic and changing environment. Demonstrated awareness of the historical and contemporary impacts of philosophies, policies and practices regarding gendered violence against women will be highly regarded.
The role will suit a person with excellent communication skills, and experience working across government departments, non-government organisations and the private sector with a track record in developing and maintaining productive relationships.
As the Senior Program Officer, you will:
• Contribute to the development, implementation and management of programs and projects that support the effective delivery of services relevant to the business unit.
• Prepare program management advice and direction in relation to projects and programs delivered by the business unit.
• Identify information from a wide range of sources and provide analysis and advice on program, policy and legislative issues relating to the programs and initiatives delivered by the business unit.
• Provide leadership, advice and management of out-sourced human services delivery by contracting service providers to support the department's program and strategic intent.
• Engage in effective networks and innovative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies and community organisations.
• Prepare a range of written materials including cabinet submissions, procurement documentation, project management artefacts, executive correspondence, briefing material, speech notes and information papers concerned with the programs and initiatives delivered by the business unit.
• Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of review mechanisms to effectively monitor and report on the progress and outcomes of programs and partnership activities.
