Parole Board Queensland was established as an independent authority and its statutory functions and powers are exercised independent from influence by Queensland Corrective Services (QCS).
As an independent decision-making body, the Board receives information from a range of people, service providers and organisations. The Board scrutinizes the information it is provided and maintains public confidence in the parole decision-making process through transparency in its processes.
The Secretariat is a business unit established under the Community Corrections and Specialist Operations division in QCS. The Secretariat supports the Board through the provision of administrative and legal support in accordance with QCS’ statutory obligations relating to the operations of the Board.

We need you to lead and inspire a high-performing team through the provision of strategic direction, coaching, and professional development, while ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and ethical standards. You will apply your strong leadership, communication, and governance skills to manage staff performance, contribute to risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement across Secretariat operations.
Your day to day will include overseeing administrative support, managing budgets and resources, maintaining secure and compliant systems as well as ensuring the accuracy of records and case information. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to policy and operational planning, and provide authoritative advice on complex issues, all while promoting the Board's value and maintaining a safe, efficient, and responsive working environment.
