The Department of the Premier and Cabinet is seeking a motivated and creative thinking Senior Advisor, Advertising Strategy to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key role in shaping the way we communicate with Queenslanders, working on campaigns that make a real difference and working closely with departments to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, within scope, and are aligned with government priorities.

About us

In its lead agency role, the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) provides strategic oversight to guide other departments towards communication excellence. 

As part of the Advertising team, you will be pivotal in ensuring the effective governance and implementation of whole-of-government advertising campaigns.

You'll be contributing to and leading campaigns that address important issues such as health, education, safety, and community development. We collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including government agencies, creative agencies, market research services, and media placement suppliers, to ensure our campaigns are effective and aligned with best practices.

How you'll contribute?
As a key member of the Advertising team, you will be responsible for timely and strategic advice to ensure best practice delivery of Queensland Government advertising campaigns. 

As the Senior Advisor, Advertising Strategy, you will: 
• Provide timely and strategic advice to government agencies and stakeholders on best practice advertising delivery.
• Lead the development and end-to-end project management of priority communication campaigns for the Queensland Government.
• Ensure advertising and communication campaigns are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with government priorities.
• Prepare and review submissions, briefs, reports, and correspondence of a complex nature relating to whole-of-government advertising matters.
• Contribute to the improvement of advertising delivery and processes, including media buying, creative development, and campaign research.
• Coordinate administrative activities to maintain the whole-of-government annual advertising plan.
• Participate in campaign development activities, including strategy and planning, research, and creative development.
• Build and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll bring to the role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
• A demonstrated understanding of advertising principles and best practices, with experience in end-to-end campaign development.
• Proven experience working in a dynamic and busy environment, with the ability to meet conflicting deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• A strategic mindset, with the ability to provide insightful advice, prepare complex reports, and contribute to process improvements.
• Flexibility and resilience, with a willingness to travel and work outside standard business hours when required.
