The QBCC is seeking a Principal Policy Officer to support the establishment of the QBCC Regulatory Academy, focusing on improving the capability, consistency, and efficiency of regulatory services. In this key role, you will lead the development and refinement of operational policies that align with both business and legislative requirements. The successful candidate will also have the option to engage in a work from home arrangement for up to two days per week under an approved Flexible Work Arrangement.

 

Please note: The QBCC Brisbane office will be relocating from West End to the Brisbane CBD at the end of 2025.

 

Key Outcomes and Accountabilities

  • Conduct and coordinate research, analysis and review of legislative, regulatory and associated policy, planning and economic issues to make recommendations in relation to preferred solutions related to the QBCC Regulatory Academy.
  • Partner with regulatory services units to embed QBCC's regulatory craft in its policies and procedures, to develop, prepare and review new policies, procedures, guidelines and supporting information to support QBCC's regulatory services teams.
  • Collaborate with the broader QBCC Regulatory Academy and across the Division to support the development of training methods and content to ensure that staff are adequately supported to apply and implement QBCC's policies and procedures.
  • Establish and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable effective coordination, development, and delivery of regulatory policies and procedures
  • Provide robust and high-level advice to support senior management with operational policy and related regulatory service innovation opportunities.
  • Take a customer-centric approach in designing and delivering learning and development solutions and apply a collaborative approach to your program of work, across your business unit, and broader organisational regulatory services units.
