As the Senior Program Officer in the Tourism Division in DETSI you will play a key role in developing and implementing proactive stakeholder engagement plans and initiatives under the Destination 2045: Delivering Queensland’s Tourism Future.
Working as part of the Partnerships and Engagement team to deliver coordination with internal DETSI and Queensland Government and external stakeholders to design, develop and implement stakeholder engagement activities to support the delivery of Destination 2045. You will identify key opportunities to boost and grow stakeholder engagement, utilising your passion, knowledge, skills and extensive experience in stakeholder engagement. You will champion proactive and productive engagement with the tourism industry and government, focussing on quality outcomes.

We're looking for the best suited applicant for the role. As the Senior Program Officer, you will:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of external and internal proactive stakeholder engagement plans and initiatives to deliver Destination 2045: Delivering Queensland's Tourism Future.
  • Build and foster proactive, enduring and productive relationships with tourism stakeholders including Regional Tourism Organisations and key organisations in the Tourism Network including Queensland Tourism Industry Council and Tourism and Events Queensland.
  • Collaborate with Regional Tourism Organisations and tourism stakeholders to develop, implement and monitor strategic engagement workplans and activities that supports delivery of Destination 2045.
  • Manage contracts, agreements and relationships in the delivery of stakeholder engagement and other tourism projects and programs as required.
  • Contribute to the preparation of timely and well-researched presentations, communication materials, briefs and submissions on complex issues, including Cabinet Submissions.
  • Support senior officers with preparation for inter-departmental meetings and represent DETSI at meetings and local events as required.
  • Support events and regional visits by the Minister, Director-General and other senior departmental representatives, which may include preparing visit programs and providing logistical assistance.
  • Other duties as directed and required.
  • Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
