The Role:
Embark on a pivotal role within the South Region's Water Planning and Science (Murray-Darling Basin and Great Artesian Basin) team leading the development of innovative management solutions and policy for the development of Water Plans, Water Management Protocols and other policy relating to the efficient and sustainable management of Queensland's water resources, with a focus on the Great Artesian Basin.

Key Accountabilities:
• Development of water plans and their statutory instruments in alignment with the Water Act 2000.
• Build a culture of high performance through continuous team learning and development for a multi disciplinary team where innovative thinking is encouraged.
• Proven strategic leadership skills to achieve the organisations vision by developing organisational capability and empowering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
• Lead a large team and coordinate water planning activities within South Region, including coordinating input from associated multi-disciplinary teams to ensure delivery of water planning functions and business objectives.
• Strong communication skills to build internal and external relationships with stakeholders to deliver projects supported by appropriate consultation and engagement.

About you:
• There are no mandatory requirements for this role however previous experience in an administrative decision-making role, and a manual driver's licence would be highly regarded.
• Travel away from the centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation for extended periods. This could also involve work in other regions.
