Lead strategic HR transformation in a high-impact reform environment. Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager (Human Resources) to lead the design and delivery of innovative workforce strategies for psychological and counselling services. About Us
QCS provides modern, evidence-based correctional services focused on rehabilitation and crime prevention. Our workforce is diverse, professional, and united by a commitment to the values of Professional, Ethical, and Respectful. The Community Corrections and Specialist Operations (CCSO) division is responsible for supervising offenders in the community and delivering specialist services across Queensland.
The CCSO Project Delivery Command (PDC) is driving transformational change across the division. As Project Manager (HR), you will play a key role in developing and implementing strategic HR solutions that support the attraction, recruitment, and retention of critical psychological and disability services staff.
About the Role
You will lead the development of fit-for-purpose HR strategies and recruitment solutions, including:
- Designing and implementing centralised recruitment strategies for psychological and disability services.
- Advising senior leaders on HR matters, including attraction, selection, retention, and workforce planning.
- Developing formal career pathways and graduate programs for psychological services staff.
- Leading strategic media and recruitment campaigns aligned with operational needs.
- Monitoring internal and external workforce trends to inform future recruitment strategies.
- Building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external providers (e.g. psychometric testing).
- Managing sensitive recruitment issues and preparing high-quality briefs and correspondence.
- Supporting a positive, high-performance culture within the Psychological Services Unit.
About You
You are a strategic HR leader with a passion for workforce innovation. You bring:
- Extensive experience in senior-level HR recruitment and workforce planning.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and deliver outcomes in a reform-driven environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including influencing senior leaders.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, industrial instruments, and HR policy frameworks.
- Experience designing and implementing attraction and retention strategies.
- Ability to analyse workforce data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- While no mandatory qualifications are required, a background in HR, psychology, or workforce planning is highly desirable.
