Senior Contract Officer
Investment and Partnerships; Region - Brisbane and Moreton Bay; Service Delivery - Child and Family; South Brisbane
The Investment and Partnerships team work closely with suppliers, government agencies and other industry stakeholders to monitor and ensure the delivery of quality services across child safety, community services, disability and community care, to support service investment activities and contract administration and management.
The Senior Contract Officer will lead and contribute to procurement and contract management activities, analyse, and evaluate data and information to make informed decisions and undertake projects to improve the delivery of procurement outcomes to meet the needs of vulnerable individuals, families and communities from diverse cultural backgrounds.

The Senior Contract Officer key responsibilities are:
• Contribute to and/or participate in end to end procurement processes including tender processes and market research and analysis in partnership with various business areas.
• Coordinate and/or lead supplier selection within the region in accordance with the department's governance and approval processes.
• Establish, negotiate, manage and monitor contracts with a diverse range of suppliers and ensure compliance with legislation, contracts, investment specifications and departmental policies and procedures.
• Monitor individual care services covered by a licence and undertake inspections.
• Provide authoritative advice on issues in relation to supplier performance to regional management.
• Support and provide advice to Contract Officers in relation to legislation, compliance, financial and legal issues.
• Build and maintain productive and respectful working relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders.
• Undertake projects that contribute to innovative and improved procurement outcomes to address the needs of vulnerable individuals, families and communities.
• Lead and contribute to internal and external stakeholder engagement to support procurement and project outcomes.
• Professionally represent the department at forums with key stakeholders and suppliers.
• Prepare briefs, plans, quotes, correspondence and other departmental reports in a timely and professional manner, consistent with departmental guidelines.
Technical/role specific - high level of knowledge and experience in procurement and the contract lifecycle. Understands the risks involved in legal issues in relation to procurement and the practical effects of terms and conditions of contract. Can apply total cost methods like cost estimations and cost calculations; and has financial awareness.
Delegations
This role is an authorised officer under the Child Protection Act 1999 and has a range of statutory delegations (where applicable).
Your mandatory requirements
• It is mandatory to have a Blue Card (a current Working with Children Clearance issued by Blue Card Services) before you commence employment in this role.
• An Australian driver's licence, either open or P2
• The right to work in Australia as a citizen, resident or on a current visa
