The role
The Senior Director, OCC leads the strategic direction of QPACH, ensuring patient flow and access across Queensland's public health system. The role drives system-wide initiatives, provides expert advice, and supports evidence-based decision-making. It builds strong stakeholder partnerships, leads a high-performing team, and ensures compliance with governance and resource management. This position is key to delivering innovative, efficient, and coordinated healthcare outcomes.
The successful person
The successful candidate will be an experienced executive leader with a strong track record in shaping and delivering large-scale, complex health programs. They will demonstrate exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to build and inspire high-performing, multi-skilled teams in a dynamic environment.
They will also have proven expertise in negotiation, consultation, and collaboration, with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and navigate competing priorities. With strong communication skills and the ability to develop trusted partnerships across health, government, and community sectors, the successful person will be committed to delivering innovative, system-wide improvements that enhance patient access and outcomes.
About Operational Capacity and Continuity
The Operational Capacity and Continuity (OCC) Division ensures consistent high-quality healthcare is delivered across Queensland during fluctuations in hospital capacity and throughout disaster and emergency incidents. OCC recognises the impact of increasing demand and complexity of services and navigates times of crisis through strong relationships and providing clear, informed, coordinated decision making.
The OCC Division comprises the following branches:
- Disaster Management Branch (DMB) and
- Queensland Patient Access Coordination Hub (QPACH)
