QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing client maintenance programs. You will collaborate closely with operational supervisors, report program status to management and clients. Offer expert guidance on planning and delivery of client maintenance programs and oversee staff performance.
Duties and skills involved:
- Assisting in the management and delivery of commercial construction projects, including liaison with all project stakeholders to ensure effective coordination, planning, delivery, commissioning and handover outcomes.
- Reporting to management and clients on the status of maintenance programs, including information on budget, expenditure, delivery timeframes and related matters.
- Developing and maintain positive relationships with clients through effective and regular communication, sound negotiation and the achievement of program outcomes which meet client expectations.
- Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.
- Providing professional guidance and advice to clients in relation to asset management solutions and assisting them to determine their strategic and operational construction and maintenance requirements and priorities.
- Coordinating, in conjunction with relevant technical officers, the preparation of detailed scopes of work and estimates in response to client requests.
- Promoting QBuild products and services to existing and prospective clients through regular meetings and established forums and identifying opportunities for new business services based on emerging trends in asset management.
- Proactively managing the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.
Preferred skills and experience:
- A trade qualification related to the construction industry would be highly desirable.
- A QBCC site supervisor's licence would be highly desirable.
- A certificate IV in workplace health & safety would be highly desirable.
