Principal Portfolio Officer

In this role you will liaise with executives and their project teams across the whole department, to support timely and effective reporting on delivery, risks and blockers and help set teams up for success in delivering on DETSI’s priorities. Your work will support clear, accurate, high-level reporting and monitoring for our Senior and Executive leaders.
Speaking to, engaging with and supporting these Executives and their teams is the role. You will use your creative problem solving, influencing, silo-breaking and relationship management skills along side your solid understanding of project management and work delivery to build the capability of others.
We are looking for a strong team player for a small and busy team, where we enjoy what we do and we are passionate about what DETSI does, as we thrive in dynamic and often ambiguous environments.

As the Principal Portfolio Officer, you will:
- Assist with the identification, understanding and communication of DETSI's Priority Initiatives to DETSI staff.
- Support and enable delivery of the Minister and Director-General's priorities including by directly supporting project teams with project reporting, work planning, project management training, identification of risks, issues and dependencies and coordination of conversations that may assist resolution.
- Develop collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders across DETSI Corporate Services to help leverage support to DETSI project teams.
- Foster a culture of information sharing, networking, and peer to peer learning through workshops and meetings.
- Provide input to briefing material and reports for the Executive Leadership Team and Minister on status, issues, trends, and risks which may influence portfolio delivery.
