About the Role
As the principal procurement and contracts officer, you will be responsible for managing procurement compliance, contracts tendering, managing facilities related projects, including accommodation and major equipment acquisition projects.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate the end-to-end procurement processes for major procurement activities including procurement plans and sub plans, tender development, tender management, evaluation advice, management and contract negotiation.
- Manage and negotiate procurement contracts including applying the Contract Management Framework, preparing detailed contract and procurement documentation, supplier performance reviews and contract dispute resolution.
- Undertake assigned accommodation and equipment acquisition projects, including project management, scoping, plans, tender development, tender management and evaluation processes.
- Provide high quality procurement and contract management services and advice to business areas to ensure procurement outcomes meet the organisation's strategic objectives.
- Undertake the procurement of the organisation's major asset and equipment items to ensure they meet the organisations changing needs and operate efficiently and cost effectively.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and review of procurement systems, policies and processes to ensure consistency with the Queensland Procurement Policy and procurement best practice.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external clients, vendors and staff to ensure procurement services are responsive to current and future needs and are in accordance with relevant legislation and governance frameworks.
- Develop and deliver procurement training as required.
How You Will be Assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following capabilities:
- You have the knowledge and experience in developing strategic procurement frameworks, policies and practices, and can provide expert analysis and advice.
- You have experience coordinating facility projects, including being accountable for budget, timeframe and successful delivery of the project and can identify and analyse issues and develop quality options and strategies to resolve complex procurement issues.
- You communicate in a clear, concise and articulate manner preparing research, submissions, reports, briefing materials and correspondence and can work independently, prioritise and meet deadlines.
