We are looking for an AO8 Manager, Employee Relations to join our team on a temporary basis. You will provide strategic and operation advice to the Service including: the management and resolution of industrial issues and dispute resolution; enterprise bargaining negotiation and union consultation; representation and advocacy in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission; review of legislation; and development of human resource policy. This is an opportunity to step into an important role in Employee Relations within the Queensland Police Service.

Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Provide expert advice regarding the development of strategic and contemporary industrial/employee relations initiatives and activities including dispute resolution, employment frameworks and enterprise agreements.
• Undertake high level research and critical analysis to prepare and review complex briefings and submissions in human resources and industrial relations.
• Assess strategic issues, research policy initiatives and implications for the Service.
• Provide advice to resolve grievances and disputes at the workplace level or through independent review and reporting.
• Coordinate and lead a small team providing advice and undertaking initiatives and projects.
• Build and sustain partnerships and networks with key internal and external stakeholders and clients.
• Appear as an industrial advocate in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, other tribunals and at high level negotiations with a range of stakeholders.
Role Requirements:
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience - Experience in a legislative/industrial relations interpretive setting and possession of tertiary qualification in employment law or industrial/employee relations fields will be highly regarded.
Other - Interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
