Mandatory Requirements • Eligibility to work in Australia • Current QLD Electrical Work Licence (Electrical Mechanic minimum) • Certificate III in Electrotechnology • Current CPR and low voltage rescue certificate • Construction Industry White Card • Valid QLD "C" class driver's licence or equivalent • Knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation, AS/NZ3000, Electrical Safety Act 2002, Electrical Safety Regulations 2013, and relevant Codes of Practice
About the Role
Support QBuild's mission to strengthen Queensland's building industry by servicing government assets through construction, maintenance, and restoration. Assist in disaster response and mentor future tradespeople.
Duties and Skills
- Perform electrical works using testing equipment and safety gear.
- Read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
- Use Microsoft Word, Outlook, and electronic devices for data entry.
- Apply safe methods for asbestos, lead, and high-risk construction work.
- Follow WHS legislation, conduct risk assessments, and identify hazards.
- Take responsibility for your safety and that of others.
- Promote a diverse, equitable, and customer-focused workplace.
- Mentor apprentices across all levels.
Additional Information
- Duties may span your region and across Queensland.
- Distant work may require overnight stays up to 3 weeks.
- PPE and safety clothing will be provided and must be worn.
- May be asked to act as team leader or foreperson as needed.
- Power tools provided when required.
- Vehicle use subject to QBuild policies; home-garaged vehicles not guaranteed.
