In this role, you will contribute to the safety of Queensland communities by engaging with, and providing expert advice to, internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to security, counter-terrorism, and national security.
Strong ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with key government and non-government stakeholders is essential.
Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Undertake the development, implementation, and maintenance of security and counter-terrorism strategies, plans, programs, projects and frameworks for the QPS and Queensland Government, at organisational, state and national levels.
- Liaise, consult and negotiate with other departmental and external stakeholder agencies on security and counter-terrorism issues.
- Assist in the research, development, review, and delivery, of presentations, exercises, and training to internal and external forums to enhance protective security awareness and counter-terrorism preparedness for stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and secretariat support to security and counter-terrorism related governance structures, committees and/or working groups.
- Provide advice to internal and external stakeholders regarding security, counter-terrorism and national security matters. Perform functional support duties within the State Police Operations Centre, or other structures established for management and response to security and counter-terrorism incidents, or other emergencies as required.
- Assist in the management of national security classified information systems and documentation for the QPS including the provision of information, advice and system connectivity for the QPS Senior Executive.
Role Requirements:
Mandatory - Currently hold, or willingness to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 national security clearance.
Other - To be eligible to apply for a national security clearance, an individual must be an Australian citizen and have a checkable background. Security vetting is conducted to determine whether an individual is suitable to hold a security clearance, that is, whether they possess and demonstrate an appropriate level of integrity.
