Your role within Social and Affordable Housing Growth will support the department to lead the delivery of enhanced housing outcomes through an integrated approach to overall supply. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.
Housing Growth provides and influences the provision of safe, secure, affordable, and appropriate housing to the people of Queensland, and the building of vibrant and connected precincts and communities in which they live. We influence, plan, design, procure and contract the delivery of contemporary housing solutions that meet the needs of our clients, reflect local community needs, and support jobs in regional Queensland. We maintain, upgrade and renew a housing portfolio of over 62,500 dwellings to ensure our tenants are safe, secure and in housing that continues to meet their needs.

The Principal Program Officer, Construction Programs within Capital Delivery works in partnership with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders to co-ordinate delivery of multiple projects critical to the achievement of Housing Delivery meeting the objectives of the Housing Strategy.
What you will be doing:
• Developing, maintaining, and disseminating high quality project plans, submissions, briefs, reports, and high-level written correspondence and associated project documentation throughout all phases of the project lifecycle including reporting on the status of the project milestones and deliverables.
• Manage and deliver a range of capital works projects in an appropriate, professional, timely and cost effect manner, including monitoring the project risks, updating mitigation strategies, and providing updates to Senior Management.
• Providing timely, authoritative professional advice in relation to capital infrastructure planning, site services, construction programs, and procurement strategies in accordance with QuickStarts Qld requirements and procurement policy
and procedures, including the identification of risks, improvements, and new opportunities.
• Applying project and program management techniques, methodologies, and tools, including cost, quality, communications, time, risk and issue management mechanisms to ensure quality outcomes are delivered for existing and new projects.
• Building and maintaining strategic relationships and coordinating, collaborating, partnering and engaging with internal and external partners and stakeholders to optimise QuickStarts Qld program outcomes and the realisation of innovative housing solutions.
• Providing high level responses to other service areas and stakeholders in relation to requests for information regarding program strategy, performance, and delivery. This includes preparing high level written reports and other correspondence, including, but not limited to assistance in the preparation of parliamentary documents and executive correspondence requests.
• Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
Mandatory Requirements:
While mandatory qualifications are not required for this role, qualifications and experience relevant to residential building and construction and/or construction project management will be highly regarded.
A current driver's licence is required.
