About the Role
As Executive Director, Operational Support you will lead a multidisciplinary portfolio and team of around 95 FTE's to provide operational and regulatory oversight for the Environmental Services and Regulation division.
You will:
• Shape and deliver the operational systems, services and capabilities that underpin DETSI's environmental regulation objectives.
• Drive improvement, champion innovative regulatory practices, and ensure the branch operates with agility, integrity and purpose.
• Lead partnerships across the department, government and community to improve environmental outcomes and contribute to cross-sector engagement across other state agencies and the commonwealth.
This role offers a Total Fixed Remuneration package $248,829 - $268,888 (SES2H) per year.
About You
You are a dynamic and inspirational executive who brings strategic vision, operational acumen, and a deep understanding of environmental management and regulatory frameworks.
You lead with purpose and influence, building high-performing teams and genuine stakeholder partnerships that deliver meaningful impact.
You don't need to be an expert in every detail, but you know how to ask the right questions, connect the dots, and support your team to deliver by being practical about how systems work and where they can work better.
You will have:
• A strong track record as an inspirational leader in dynamic, complex organisations, who can engage staff and build a diverse, accountable, and innovative workforce.
• Demonstrated success leading service reform, policy initiatives and innovative programs that deliver lasting change.
• Sophisticated stakeholder engagement skills and political acumen with the ability to influence across government, industry and community.
• A well-refined understanding of contemporary environmental and regulatory trends, drivers and approaches.
