The Infrastructure Safety Unit (ISU) at the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is seeking a motivated and innovative professional to join our team as a Business Support Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the safety band wellbeing of workers across Infrastructure Management and Delivery (IMD)
projects.
The ISU provides leadership, support and guidance on the implementation, maintenance and performance of Infrastructure Management and Delivery's (IMD) divisional safety system of work through key actions and activities. The ISU is accountable for ensuring the effective management of the health and safety of IMD workers and, monitoring the health and safety performance of external principal contractors and sub-contractors on projects where TMR is the client.

The purpose of the Business Support Officer (Infrastructure Safety) is to provide high level support to the Infrastructure Safety Unit.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Providing high quality executive and administrative support to the Director, Infrastructure Safety.
• Provide a range of business support activities and tasks, for example - develop and maintain databases, produce or update project or activity progress reports and manage online systems including Microsoft Teams pages and SharePoint sites.
• Drafting correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, submissions or briefing notes, in accordance with departmental standards.
• Liaising with stakeholders and various levels of management including senior executives from public and private organisations.
• Research solutions and complete complex administrative tasks to comply with public sector legislation, standards, policies and procedures.
To thrive in the role, you will have:
• Demonstrated ability and skills to provide high quality and effective executive level coordination and administrative support services.
• Knowledge and experience in advanced Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote, and organisational databases.
• Ability to communicate in a clear, succinct and deliberate manner, adjusting the message as appropriate to the audience required.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage priorities and deliver activities and work output in a timely manner.
