About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Operations Officer who will lead a small team to deliver key public and school transport services across Queensland. In this dynamic, front-line role, you'll manage stakeholder relationships, ensure service delivery excellence, and promote strong governance. This position offers a unique mix of operational responsibility, strategic leadership, and customer service — no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and supervise a small team delivering passenger and school transport systems and services.
• Provide high-quality customer service and manage public complaints with professionalism.
• Manage local delivery of the School Transport Assistance Scheme.
• Support contract performance monitoring and ensure service compliance.
• Maintain strong relationships with industry partners and respond proactively to disruptions such as natural disasters.
• Oversee data and office systems, ensuring alignment with legislation and governance frameworks.
You'll also demonstrate leadership competencies aligned with the Queensland Government Leadership Framework, including:
• Leading strategically
• Building enduring relationships
• Developing and mobilising talent
• Demonstrating sound governance
Mandatory Requirements:
• Undertake criminal history check prior to appointment to the role.
• Current C class driver's licence.
• Willingness to undertake frequent intra-state travel.
• Availability to support emergency response efforts outside normal hours if required.
