About the Role
The General Manager, People and Culture will be responsible for the entire Human Resources Division for the QBCC. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the remit spans workforce strategy, employee relations, organisational design, leadership development, health, safety and wellbeing, and culture.
Supporting the transformation of the Commission, and the overarching corporate objectives of the CEO and COO, this role will:
- Provide strategic advice to the Strategic Leadership Team, Commissioner and Board on all people-related matters.
- Lead the development and delivery of a contemporary workforce strategy, including succession planning, workforce capability and performance development.
- Oversee workplace health and safety, talent attraction, recruitment and retention initiatives.

- Drive organisational change projects, including restructures, and capability building.
- Champion diversity, inclusion and flexible workplace practices that support the QBCC's aspiration to be an employer of choice.
About You
Your inspirational leadership and passion will shape the organisation's people strategy, drive cultural uplift and enhance organisational performance across a workforce dedicated to public value.
You are an exceptional and proven senior executive with experience leading people and culture functions in a complex public sector or statutory authority environment. You bring:
- Strong strategic HR expertise, including workforce planning, organisational design and culture uplift.
- Demonstrated success in managing industrial relations, employment frameworks and employee wellbeing.
- The ability to foster positive organisational change, build capability and mentor leaders.
- A reputation for integrity, influence and building strong, productive relationships.
