In the role of Program Officer (Corridor Management) you will meet governance requirements and deliver a range of technical and administrative duties associated with activities / works within the state-controlled road network. You will provide alternate solutions for applications which may conflict with the departments works, other proposals or delay the installation on a standard utility services alignment and provide technical support in a multi-skilled team environment.
Accountabilities include:
- Liaise and communicate with customers and other stakeholders including Engineering Consultancies, Local Government authorities, Contractors, Departmental business units and all third parties.
- Negotiate and/or contribute to negotiations with third parties, utilising the services of Departmental and industry specialists as required, to avoid/minimise the impacts and of third party works, ensuring safe, efficient and effective outcomes.
- Evaluate work sites with respect to planning and design proposals, WH&S, and environment, in liaison with personnel/team members specialising in those fields.
- Work with regional planning design and delivery teams to review third party applicants and current projects, when required, to identify conflicts with third party works and proposals.
- Prepare, contribute and negotiate solutions for third party activities of identified conflicts in projects.
- Assist in obtaining internal and external services to prepare and review agreements/amendments/other approvals for the location, delivery of third-party activities.
- Co-ordinate review and monitor third party activities including the verification and compliance of associated permits conditions and approvals.
- Ability to work across teams within the Region to optimise resourcing.
- Contribute to the overall function of the Region by participating in and contributing to multi-skilling philosophies within the team to achieve objectives and provide general assistance as required.
- Ability to program own work schedules to meet program requirements.
- Actively participate in the development and continuous improvement of work processes and procedures associated with Corridor Management, Traffic Control Permits and Public Utilities and Plant applications.
This position reports to the Principal Advisor (Corridor and Land Management).
