This position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes. CDSB is currently in negotiations for a certified agreement to cover all CDSB employees. In the meantime, the Core Agreement conditions apply to this position.
As the Manager (Business Products), you will:
• Contribute to program and project development using relevant tools and methodologies by:
o undertaking project scoping
o developing business requirements specifications, business cases, project plans and schedules
o conducting benefit analysis and financial/business impact assessment
o providing direction and ensuring alignment with departmental strategies and objectives
• Lead and manage the delivery of the program of works by:
o managing and coordinating project leaders and team members to ensure individual projects meet all specifications and ensure appropriate frameworks are in place
o monitoring and reporting on project milestones and completion
o being accountable for deliverables by adopting sound project planning, management and measurement principles
o identify and resolve high level project and program issues
o project manage and/or act as project member where required
o carry out post-implementation reviews on projects and carry out knowledge sharing of learning
• Liaise and consult with training and change functions of the branch to ensure appropriate change management strategies are developed and implemented.
• Operate as part of the branch leadership team and contribute to the development of strategic, business and operational plans.
• Manage the human resource activities and development opportunities of the team, foster a safe working environment that encourages commitment, continuous improvement and quality service delivery.
• Promote and support a workplace culture of equity, diversity, respect and inclusion, and proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.
We are looking for an individual with:
• Proven communication skills to support the establishment and maintenance of strong, effective and ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Thorough understanding and demonstrated application of Lean business improvement methodology
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to inspire, guide, and influence teams and stakeholders towards achieving organisational goals, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
