Licence Entitlement Officer

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Licence Entitlement Officer to join our team in a permanent full-time role. This position is responsible for conducting investigations into licensee and applicant compliance with legislative requirements, assessing and prioritising complaints and referrals, and liaising with complainants, licensees, government departments, and other stakeholders. You will play a key role in determining entitlement to a licence and taking appropriate licensing actions, which may include refusal, suspension, cancellation, or disciplinary action. This position is based in Brisbane but flexible work arrangements can be considered upon application, including working from home and working remotely at a Regional QBCC office (subject to availability).
PLEASE NOTE: The QBCC Brisbane office will be relocating from West End to the Brisbane CBD at the end of 2025.

About the Role
- Assess and prioritise complaints and referrals;
- Liaise with complainants, licensees, external government departments and other parties;
- Conduct investigations into an applicant's or licensee's entitlement to a licence and take appropriate licensing action as required, including refusal of licence, suspension, cancellation or disciplinary action.
- Monitoring compliance with licence conditions and other requirements QBCC may have of a licensee.
- Obtain evidence in the form of statements and relevant documents from third parties;
- Suspend, cancel, and impose conditions upon licensees;
- Prepare reports regarding investigations and recommendations regarding action to be taken;
- Provide consumers, contractors and other industry participants with advice regarding QBCC requirements;
- Provide other QBCC staff with advice, support, guidance and assistance in the performance of their functions;
- Represent QBCC in promotional and educational activities, and in court or tribunal proceedings;
- Provide exceptional customer service to all staff of the QBCC and external customers;
- Recording and reporting on the results of investigations and other important information in QBCC's database;
- Assist with the development, implementation and review of policies, procedures and systems.
