QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
Your role within the team at QBuild will support the department to partner with Queensland Government agencies to deliver their core services, by providing state-wide planning, building, maintenance, and disaster response services that utilise local suppliers and QBuild tradespeople and apprentices. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.
As the Project Officer in Workplace Health and Safety, you will contribute to activities that support our team's lead role in a range of strategic safety activities that are vital to the effective, transparent and accountable operations of QBuild. This may include involvement in the delivery of risk and governance functions (such as the safety risk management, business continuity and systems and frameworks), strategic and operational planning, and a broad range of performance monitoring and reporting. The role is also responsible for providing professional and timely advice to QBuild operations and working with stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
Duties and skills involved:
- Developing and implementing processes that support improved work management and service delivery for the workplace health and safety team.
- Coordinate and participate in QBuild strategic workplace health and safety projects.
- Coordinate and prepare workplace health and safety reports for QBuild and support consistent and coherent project performance management and/or risk monitoring that informs decision-making.
- Review and analyse, collate and present data and information to support project activities and participate in reviews of performance measures or indicators and maintain definitions.
- Provide advice and support to key stakeholders on workplace health and safety activities and processes and ensure appropriate digital tools are used and resources are available to facilitate effective communication, collaboration and coordination and capability development.
- Providing general project administration support services to the workplace health and safety team including preparing project documentation, developing and maintaining project budgets and reports in line with project governance framework which include maintaining business information integrity.
- Build successful networks, ensure effective communication channels and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with research and preparation of high-quality reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations and other correspondence as required.
- Monitor and manage shared team resources to ensure timely action of requests and systems are up to date with appropriate access to ensure ease of collaboration with stakeholders.
