Your opportunity
As the Executive Director, Strategic Communications within the Corporate business group, you will provide leadership in achieving the objectives of the Department through the development of innovative, proactive communication strategies and leadership of the stakeholder relationships strategy and framework. You will lead the development of a departmental narrative that explains the role of the Department and how it is driving an economic agenda for Queensland, stimulating industry growth and creating jobs for all Queenslanders.

Your team
You will be leading a team that is making a difference by taking a strategic, whole-of department view of communication, managing the department's reputation and providing context and consistency to all forms of communication messaging.
Strategic Communications focuses on a number of key areas: strategic communication; media; online, web services, social media and digital strategy; marketing and creative; internal communication and stakeholder engagement.
Strategic Communications has an integrated operating model, whereby our clients and their projects will have dedicated account managers, having the flexibility to draw on our collective resources to respond to client needs and changing priorities.

Your responsibilities
• Drive DSDIP's strategic vision by translating high-level objectives into actionable outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, commercial partners, and government officials, including the Minister and their office.
• Provide executive-level advice on departmental reputation and stakeholder engagement to senior leadership.
• Lead the development and implementation of a stakeholder engagement strategy in a complex environment.
• Manage and allocate staff and resources effectively across embedded and specialist teams.
• Oversee the department's digital and web presence, ensuring alignment with government standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver strategic, outcome-focused services and solutions.
• Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive workforce that embraces collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
