Your Key Accountabilities:
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Conduct psychological assessments, including psychometric testing, clinical interviewing and report writing for: initial selection; promotion and specialisation; and psychological health screening purposes.
- Provide advice, guidance and recommendations to stakeholders regarding the suitability of applicants for appointment to general duties and specialist policing positions, and the ongoing psychological health and suitability of employees working in high-risk roles.
- Refer psychologically vulnerable employees to specialised mental health practitioners for follow-up diagnostic assessments and/or treatment, as required.
- Contribute to the ongoing review of psychological assessment processes and practices, and recommend continuous improvement strategies relating to selection and employee health screening standards.
- Conduct research aimed at identifying psychological characteristics of highly successful versus unsuccessful police officers, temporal changes in employee wellbeing over time, and best-practice strategies for enhancing psychological resilience among employees working in high-risk roles.
Role Requirements:
Mandatory:
- Current registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Possession of a current drivers licence for a motor vehicle
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience:
- Knowledge and experience in conducting occupational psychological assessments including psychometric tests and clinical interviews.
Other:
- Travel will be a requirement of this position
