Are you ready to make a real difference on Country? Step into a unique role where culture, community, and conservation collide! As a key member of our brand-new Cultural Heritage Team, you'll work side-by-side with First Nations people to protect and celebrate the rich stories and sacred sites of Cape York Peninsula Aboriginal Land (CYPAL).

What's the Role About?
This isn't your typical desk job. You'll be out there — connecting with Traditional Owners, mapping cultural sites, recording powerful stories, and helping communities keep their heritage alive across both land and sea. You'll support everything from developing cultural strategies to delivering eye-opening cultural awareness training, all while backing fire management and compliance activities in one of Australia's most incredible regions.

You'll work with Land Trusts, Corporations, and Registered Native Title Body Corporations (RNTBCs) — building strong relationships and making sure cultural knowledge is respected, preserved, and shared the right way.

What You'll Be Doing
• Mapping and protecting sacred sites alongside Traditional Owners — you'll help bring culture to life through careful recording and storytelling.
• Developing and delivering cultural awareness training that educates and inspires staff and stakeholders alike.
• Supporting data management and keeping cultural knowledge safe and accessible in databases.
• Being part of a passionate team, constantly improving how we manage and celebrate cultural heritage on CYPAL parks.
• Jumping in to assist with fire management and compliance activities when needed — blending culture and country management in practical ways.
• Preparing reports and briefings that showcase the incredible work being done and help guide future projects.

What We're Looking For
• You're proudly Indigenous, with a deep connection to culture and community.
• You love working with people and can build genuine, respectful relationships with Traditional Owners and stakeholders.
• You're passionate about cultural heritage and excited to help protect and promote it for generations to come.
• You've got great communication skills — able to tell stories, share knowledge, and educate others with heart and clarity.
• You're adaptable and ready to dive into diverse tasks — from fieldwork to training delivery to admin support.

Why You'll Love This Role
• Work on Country in one of the most stunning, culturally rich places in Australia.
• Be part of a team that's all about community, culture, and collaboration.
• Play a hands-on role in preserving sacred stories and sites that matter.
• Develop new skills and take your career to the next level with support and opportunities for growth.
• Enjoy a job that's varied, meaningful, and never boring — every day brings a new adventure!
