QLeave is a statutory body established to administer a portable long service leave scheme for eligible workers in the building and construction, contract cleaning, and community service industries. Your Opportunity
As the Director Finance and Investment, you will play a pivotal role in leading QLeave's Finance and Investment Services (FIS) function. Reporting to the Executive Director Corporate Operations and Program Delivery, you will oversee the organisation's financial management, investment portfolio, and procurement operations. You will also be a key member of QLeave's Executive Leadership Team, contributing to strategy and delivery decisions for all QLeave programs.
Your Contribution
Using your expertise in financial, investment, and procurement leadership, you will:
- Drive the strategic direction and future vision of the Finance and Investment Services function, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and statutory obligations.
 - Oversee the management of an investment portfolio exceeding $2 billion, ensuring alignment with the organisation's risk appetite and investment strategy.
 - Deliver strategic insights and advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Board to support decision-making and enhance organisational performance.
 - Lead the organisation's procurement function, ensuring compliance with Queensland Government procurement policies and frameworks.
 - Develop and implement innovative procurement strategies to achieve value for money and support organisational objectives.
 - Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including financial, investment, and procurement obligations.
 
What We're Looking For
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change across diverse teams and stakeholders.
 - Proven experience in strategic financial and investment management, including managing significant investment portfolios.
 - Extensive knowledge of financial management legislation, accounting standards, and risk management practices.
 - Expertise in procurement leadership, including developing and implementing procurement strategies in a government or statutory authority context.
 - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver strategic insights and advice to senior leaders.
 - Comprehensive knowledge of corporate financial law, governance, and compliance frameworks.
 
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, qualifications in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
Professional qualifications as a CPA or CA will also be favourably considered.
