In this role you will ensure a high level of community safety through the coordination and delivery of approved general and/or sexual offending programs to those offenders assessed as requiring offender intervention programs.

The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements:
• Experience or ability to deliver of group-based behavioural change programs
• Experience in and understanding of the criminal justice, case management or similar human services field
• Experience in a practice supervision model, both as supervisee and preferably, supervisor with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and encourage others to meet the challenges of demanding work roles
• Ability to engage with community groups and/or implement community development strategies
• Experience or ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Understanding and application of theories, models and research related to behavioural change techniques
• Knowledge and application of research and practices, risk assessment instruments, process their application specific to effective correctional rehabilitation
• Knowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures
Mandatory requirements
The following mandatory requirements apply to this role:
• The possession of a tertiary qualification in preferably in psychology, social work, education or behavioural sciences, however, other Bachelor degrees may be considered at the discretion of the recruitment panel in consultation with Offender Rehabilitation and Management Services.
• Membership or affiliation with a relevant professional association will be highly regarded.
• For Program Delivery Officers specialising in the delivery of sexual offending programs you will be provided with training in the use of relevant assessment tools (STATIC-99 and STABLE-2000) to allocate sex offenders to appropriate treatment. This training is a mandatory requirement following appointment to a PDO position.
