Solution Engineer (Salesforce)

The QBCC is seeking a motivated and skilled Solution Engineer. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, maintenance, and support of Salesforce and other enterprise software applications that underpin the services we deliver to Queensland’s building and construction industry. Working as part of a collaborative development team, you will be responsible for building and enhancing software solutions that align with business requirements and strategic objectives. You will apply your technical expertise within the organisation’s software development lifecycle, ensuring all applications are robust, scalable, and aligned with best practices. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality software, enjoys solving complex problems, and is eager to make a real impact in a purpose-driven government organisation.

About the Role 

As a Solution Engineer (Salesforce) your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining a detailed knowledge of software process improvement.
  • Adhering to OBCC software development governance controls, methodologies, frameworks and processes.
  • Designing, coding, testing and documenting large and/or complex software solutions from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.

About You

We are looking for you to demonstrate the following candidate attributes:

  • Experience, ability and knowledge in Salesforce configuration, development, integrations, software tools, development methodologies, automated testing and system documentation.
  • Technical experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud, Salesforce Service Cloud, Apex, Omnistudio, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJs, Git and Github Workflows. Willingness to learn new development languages and technologies such as AWS. Technical experience with systems networking, databases, web development, and user support.
  • Superior interpersonal, consultative, negotiation, and communications skills to clearly express, influence, and support business improvements and ICT service outcomes.
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem solving and crisis management skills and strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities. Proven ability to adapt and work diligently, both independently and collaboratively as a valuable member of a team. Capable of handling high-pressure, on-call situations with shifting priorities.
