RoadTek Operational Service and Delivery are seeking an innovative Technical Trainer (Mechanical) to join the statewide team on a permanent basis. This full-time position can be performed from any of the following RoadTek office locations (Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, Warwick, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast or Brisbane CBD).
RoadTek consists of a fleet of more than 1300 assets spread across 9 operations units. The workshop teams maintain a core fleet to satisfy operational unit requirements to facilitate the delivery of transport infrastructure maintenance, works and services across Queensland.

In the role of Technical Trainer (Mechanical), you will be responsible for preparing and delivering technical and mandatory training in specific Civil Construction and Mechanical applications to our people. You will ensure training materials and programs are compliant with legislative standards and meet current systems, processes and tools used by practitioners in the discipline (Fleet, Linemarking, Structures, Electrical), as well as meet business delivery needs.
You will also ensure competency of the workforce through regular analysis and monitoring of, mechanical development pathway progressions, and operational workplace assessments of the workforce to meet capability development requirements.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Certificate III in Engineering - Fixed & Mobile Plant Mechanic (MEM31419), and/or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR31120), and/or ability to upgrade existing qualification/s to attain.
• Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
• A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards will be required throughout the operational unit and/or the State.
Desirable requirements:
• Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment.
• Certificate IV Project Management.
• Certificate IV Leadership and Management.
• Knowledge of plant and equipment utilised within the civil construction and mechanical industries.
To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate:
• Sound understanding of vocational training frameworks, particularly related to engineering and mechanical qualifications.
• A high-level understanding of adult learning principles and an ability to apply this knowledge .
• Experience in prioritising projects and tasks to ensure they are in line with team and organizational commitments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills.
