This management role leads and plans for the delivery of the annual fire program for Central Region. The role leads the Central Region Fire Team and provides high level support to the Regional Director.
As Principal Ranger Fire Management, you will:
• Develop and lead partnerships with the Queensland Fire Department, relevant stakeholders and First Nation peoples.
• Ensure Regional plans support QPWS strategic outcomes and provide feedback • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team
• Liaise and negotiate where appropriate with other agency units to ensure activities and functions are in accordance with QPWS policies and processes.
• Manage operational support and resources across a geographically dispersed area.
• Ensure the accurate and timely input of information into divisional and regional reporting systems
• Build and sustain working relationships and consultative processes with internal and external stakeholders
• Lead and participate in committees, boards and at other meetings relevant to the agency
• Provide precise and effective financial administration.
• Report on program activities and operational plan progress and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with legislative obligations and statutory requirements.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations peoples.
Travel will be required from time to time. This includes overnight stays in remote and isolated areas.

The position is negotiable in Central Region, Rockhampton, Townsville or Mackay preferred.
