The purpose of the Business Support Officer role is to provide high-level administrative and operational support to a professional, multi-disciplinary team. Working in a fast-paced environment, the role requires flexibility, initiative, and discretion when engaging with staff across all levels. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to business outcomes while also developing your own skills and capabilities.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
•Provide efficient and confidential administrative support to the Executive Director, Directors and other senior managers in the section.
•Provide a range of business support activities and tasks for the Executive Director and or Directors, for example - maintain the appointment diary system, new employee provisioning; process Qld Government ID applications; develop and maintain databases; use bring up systems for tasks; update records on Document Management System and DocTrak (and any other systems as required).
•Arrange and book conferences/training, learning and development applications, including travel bookings using departmental systems in accordance with departmental policies.
•Purchase of stationery, minor equipment and office requirements are correctly administered in accordance with departmental policies, including the reconciliation of a Queensland Government Corporate Card.
•Utilise, retrieve and update procedures, databases or information systems to ensure effective and efficient service delivery through relevant, accurate and accessible information, for example - document management systems, web pages, business directory, filing systems, updating procedure manuals, distribution or mailing lists.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
•Good verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders, draft correspondence, and respond to enquiries.
•Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and organise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
•Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and familiarity with diary management, office administration and/or business support practices.
•Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to shared goals and supporting others to achieve business outcomes.
