Join the Chillagoe team and help manage the iconic Chillagoe-Mungana Caves National Park, along with hidden gems like Staaten National Park, Palmer River Goldfields Resources Reserve, and Errk Oykangand National Park (CYPAL). Every day brings something new, from exploring ancient caves to camping under the stars in the wild!

Here's what you'll get up to:
• Lead guided tours through stunning limestone caves (yes, you'll be a cave tour guide!) on a rotating roster, including weekends.
• Camp in remote parks for days at a time, surrounded by breathtaking wilderness.
• Work closely with Traditional Owner groups to protect cultural and natural heritage.
• Maintain infrastructure, including inside the caves - how cool is that?
• Help visitors at the Chillagoe Hub with bookings, tourist info, and cash handling.

The Chillagoe work area is as challenging as it is rewarding. You'll face hot, humid days for much of the year, limited access during the wet season, and minimal local services - but the experiences you'll gain are second to none!

Why This Role Rocks:
Rangers are the heart and soul of Queensland's parks, ensuring they're protected, accessible, and loved by all. In this role, you'll contribute to conservation, recreation and land management while working in some of the most extraordinary places on Earth.

You'll dive into five key focus areas, depending on what's needed:

1. Pest Management: Protect native ecosystems by tackling invasive species.
2. Fire Management: Conduct planned burns to safeguard habitats and reduce wildfire risks.
3. Estate Management: Keep parks looking their best with infrastructure maintenance.
4. Visitor Management: Create unforgettable experiences for visitors while ensuring their safety.
5. Assets and Safety: Inspect and maintain assets to keep everything running smoothly.

What You'll Need:
• A love for the outdoors and a sense of adventure.
• Physical fitness to handle remote fieldwork, camping, and rugged terrain.
• Great communication skills to engage with visitors, Traditional Owners, and stakeholders.
• Flexibility to work weekends, and in challenging conditions like heat, humidity.

Why You'll Love It:
This isn't just a job - it's a chance to immerse yourself in nature, work in awe-inspiring locations, and make a real difference. From guiding visitors through ancient caves to camping in untouched wilderness, every day is an adventure waiting to happen.

If you're ready to swap the office for the outdoors and take on a role that's as exciting as it is meaningful, we'd love to hear from you!
