Work flexibly from either Brisbane or one of our regional centres *based on office availability*.
Please note: The QBCC Brisbane office will be relocating from West End to the Brisbane CBD at the end of 2025.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
As the Senior Assessement Officer, you will:
- Assess, investigate, decide and process licensing matters in accordance with legislation and within delegation including decisions to refuse licence applications, suspend, cancel, or impose a condition upon a licence.
- Investigate, determine and provide advice on complex matters relating to licensing.
- Interpret, apply and provide guidance on policy and legislation at a senior level.
- Undertake research for cases and projects.
- Represent the QBCC in promotional and educational activities including in regional locations as required.
- Represent the QBCC in proceedings before the tribunal and courts as required, including mentoring of other officers involved in a proceeding.
- Participate in planning and change management activities including making recommendations for improvements.
- Assist in the development, implementation and review of policies, procedures, systems, forms and communications.
- Gather industry intelligence to ensure proactive and efficient service delivery.
- Undertake general administrative duties and support communication across the QBCC networks.
- Provide authoritative advice regarding the licensing frameworks administered by the QBCC, through:
- reviewing, analysing and making recommendations on complex matters and preparing briefs for senior management.
- providing senior level advice regarding licensing matters to other QBCC staff and external customers.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all staff of the Commission and its customers.
 
- This position may be required to undertake regional travel.
