Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is seeking a strategic leader to drive the delivery of large-scale residential and mixed-use projects across Queensland. The Role
The Housing Supply and Delivery team is focussed on supporting the Queensland Government commitment to deliver 1 million homes for Queenslanders by 2044 at pace and scale. EDQ works with key industry partners, developers and stakeholders to facilitate delivery of housing development projects to deliver on EDQ strategic priorities. These projects are primarily delivering development ready land suitable for the private sector to deliver housing and include large multi-year residential and mixed-use projects (ranging in size from $10m over 1-2 years to $3b over 30 years). 

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of property professionals with clear directions to secure sites across Queensland to support EDQ's housing pipeline and then bringing those into delivery phase. Other key responsibilities include:
• Lead and manage project teams to deliver land suitable for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across Queensland
• Ensure strong financial governance, risk management, and delivery to agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Oversee procurement, deal structuring, and contract negotiations to protect EDQ and State interests.
• Lead the development and implementation of innovative development and funding strategies and business cases, ensuring a balanced approach to economic and community outcomes
• Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, driving accountability, and empowering team members to deliver exceptional outcomes
• Coach, mentor, and develop talent within the team to build capability and ensure sustained performance across complex, long-term projects
• Champion continuous improvement and innovation in delivery practices, ensuring the team remains agile, responsive and aligned with EDQ's strategic goals
• Manage the team and projects to deliver a consistent pipeline of development ready land suitable for housing released to the market.

About You
The successful candidate for this role will demonstrate the following minimum requirements:
• Minimum 10yrs experience in the property development industry
• Proven track record in successful creation of development strategy and subsequent delivery of property development, land assembly, complex urban precincts
• Demonstrated experience managing high-performing teams, with a focus on cultivating a culture of excellence and results-driven delivery.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to assess, structure, and negotiate complex development projects.
• Ability to structure and critically analyse feasibility assessments and lead the development and successful approval of business / investment cases / deal structures.
• Knowledge of government policy and practices using strategic thinking to work successfully within those parameters
• Proven ability to inspire and align cross-functional teams around a shared vision, driving performance through strategic leadership and effective stakeholder
