This includes advancing the Queensland Government’s vision for a fair and sustainable housing system, supporting the construction sector in delivering critical infrastructure projects in the lead-up to Brisbane 2032, and empowering young Queenslanders to build a brighter future.
This position is integral to supporting the Director-General in achieving high-quality outcomes for the Queensland Government. As a senior executive, the role provides strategic leadership across the department’s corporate services portfolio, which includes Finance, Human Resources, Communication, Legal, Information and Technology Services, and Governance, along with operational oversight of Internal Audit.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director-General, the Deputy Director-General, Corporate Services provides whole of department leadership across finance, governance, human resources, information and technology, legal, communications and engagement as well as operational oversight of internal audit. The role drives innovation, efficiency and accountability to enable frontline outcomes and support Ministers, the Director-General and senior executives with timely, high quality advice.
Key responsibilities within this role include:
- Aligning people, funding and digital capabilities with departmental objectives and government priorities.
- Strengthening governance, risk, audit and performance frameworks to ensure transparent, value-for-money service delivery.
- Leading customer-centric corporate services that enable housing programs and major builds tied to the Government's housing agenda.
- Building collaborative partnerships with central agencies, unions and sector partners to deliver whole-of-government outcomes.
Success in this role lifts organisational capability and directly supports the department's impact in the community, helping more Queenslanders find a place to call home, accelerating housing supply, and sustaining a strong construction sector.
About You
You are an accomplished senior executive who brings depth, judgement and purpose to leadership. We are seeking someone who is motivated by the opportunity to strengthen an organisation that directly improves the lives of Queenslanders, and who leads with clarity, empathy and conviction.
You will bring a:
- Leadership approach grounded in integrity, clarity and accountability, leading by example, you set the tone for high standards, whilst creating an environment where teams feel safe to innovate and challenge.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture and the operational detail, and can map corporate services to real world outcomes measuring success in impact.
- Proven track record in leading large, multi-disciplinary teams and functions (finance, HR, IT, legal, governance) through change.
- Excellent communication and ability to influence as you articulate a clear vision through conveying complex concepts simply and building confidence among stakeholders, including Ministers and Board-level executives.
