Manager, DETSI Delivery Office

We are seeking a dynamic team leader to manage the DETSI Delivery Office (DDO) - a small team dedicated to ensuring a portfolio-wide visibility and support for the department’s key initiatives.
The DDO is an enabler, removing barriers and working across the department to support the successful delivery of our key initiatives. The DDO’s key functions and services include providing advice on alignment of initiatives to the department’s strategic priorities; working with program managers and senior executives to resolve
conflicting priorities, dependencies, risks and issues; and monitoring and reporting on implementation progress.

This role is an opportunity to work with a diverse range of people and teams across the department's environment, tourism, science and innovation portfolios, and to help drive success in our priority initiatives. With touch points in every division and from executive leaders through to project officers and support staff, you will gain a unique perspective that you will use to drive clarity and to help overcome blockers. The Manager, DETSI Delivery Office reports to the Director, Portfolio Reporting and Delivery within the department's Corporate Services division.
As the Manager, you will:
• Lead and manage a small team responsible for monitoring and supporting a diverse portfolio of initiatives.
• Deliver tailored capability uplift and coaching in areas such as project management, risk management, and agile ways of working.
• Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across the department.
• Develop and maintain a robust understanding of the department's strategic initiatives, to ensure that all initiatives meet the priorities of, and are aligned to, the Minister's, Director-General's and departmental strategic priorities.
• Build trusted collaborative relationships with the leaders of strategic initiatives, to identify opportunities for support and facilitate resolution of conflicting priorities, dependencies, risks and issues that affect the delivery of multiple programs.
• Develop and maintain highly effective collaborative relationships.
• Lead innovative and proactive change and improvement initiatives.
You will have:
• Demonstrated significant experience in a portfolio office or similar function communicating, liaising and building trusted relationships with managers and staff
across organisational boundaries.
• Demonstrated high level ability to recognise organisational or service delivery issues and undertake an objective analysis to distil the core issues, presenting
logical arguments and drawing accurate conclusions.
• Proven high level ability to identify and act on opportunities for improvement, engaging positively with ideas, innovation and risk.
• A track record of delivering quality results in a fluid and collaborative environment with evolving priorities and deadlines.
