The Senior Management Accountant drives high-level financial and operational excellence across the OPG. This role provides expert analytical and business advice to senior stakeholders, ensures the integrity of financial services, and directly supports key OPG accountabilities, including internal budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting. A crucial element of the position is the oversight and management of all OPG procurement activities.

Your key responsibilities
• Provide advanced financial expertise across reporting, forecasting, analysis, and compliance controls to ensure the integrity of all financial operations.
• Review, audit, and reconcile financial accounts and documentation rigorously, ensuring strict adherence to specified accounting standards, financial requirements, and departmental policies (e.g., DOJ/OPG).
• Proactively manage the financial ledger, identifying and implementing corrective actions and offering expert guidance to business units to resolve recurring financial administration and reporting issues.
• Compile, present, and analyse accurate financial and performance data to directly support management's strategic planning and critical decision-making processes.
• Oversee and manage procurement activities and administration, providing expert advice and contributing to the development of governance frameworks and best-practice strategies.
• Offer financial and project support, maintaining efficient financial administration across various initiatives.
Qualifications and conditions
There are no mandatory qualifications required to undertake this role, however skills and experience in procurement management within a government setting would be highly desirable.
