About the role:

You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry. Use your exceptional leadership skills to supervise staff while overseeing and coordinating minor works, construction, and maintenance programs. You will also look after a suite of tasks associated with program development, design management, cost planning, tendering, estimating, contract administration and program management of new construction works.

  • Ensuring the effective operational delivery of client projects and programs by managing the productivity of the programs resources, monitoring performance and initiating remedial action as necessary.
  • Maintaining sound relationships with clients and act as the interface with clients on major projects.
  • Preparing and effectively managing the maintenance, minor works and construction program sales budgets in line with the Queensland Government's Capital Works Framework (CWF).
  • Achieving operational objectives through effective planning and utilisation of resources, including the ability to successfully manage a commercially-oriented organisation in the Building Construction and Maintenance Industry, or similar, within the Public Sector.
  • Managing, coordinating and integrating a workforce of office and field staff involved in product development, product delivery and client liaison activities.
  • Planning and resolving resourcing issues and ensuring the appropriate allocation and management of resources within each of the operational areas to achieve a consistently high level of quality in the delivery of building services and project management with budgetary, resource and time constraints.
  • Managing and implementing change and creating effective working relationships through leading and developing individuals and teams.
  • Proactively managing the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.

Preferred skills and experience:
