About the role
*This is a temporary role to backfill for maternity leave*
This position is located in Brisbane and the successful candidate will need to enter into a Flexible Work Arrangement upon commencement to reflect the office location you are seeking to work from. If working from a regional office, travel to the Brisbane office will be required regularly (frequency to be negotiated with successful candidate) to fulfil operational business needs.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Strategic communications delivery - Develop and deliver high quality communication and marketing activities aligned with the External Communications Strategy and Key Reporting Areas.
- Content creation & editing - Produce high-quality written, visual, and event-related materials under tight deadlines.
- Advisory support - Provide best-practice communications advice to business units and leadership to implement effective communication activities.
- Stakeholder engagement - Build strong relationships, provide effective customer service to key stakeholders, influence decision-making, and promote the value of communication channels.
- Operational improvement - Assist with reporting on communication strategies and campaigns, support the Communications team's projects and processes, and assist in the continuous enhancement of QBCC's communication assets.

Candidate Attributes
- Demonstrated experience in, and thorough knowledge of communications strategies, issues and trends, and proven ability to use this to improve outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience as a marketing or communications officer, including skills in writing, editing, campaign and communications planning.
- High-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience with intranets (e.g. SharePoint), digital content production, and work management platforms (e.g. Asana) is highly desirable.
