The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is on a bold journey towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond. Following the extraordinary success of Queensland athletes at the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are now focused on delivering even more medal-winning moments through to Los Angeles 2028 and our home Games in 2032.

Join the QAS as the Research and Innovation Coordinator and play an important role in supporting projects that enhance performance and drive improvement across Queensland sport. As part of the Performance Partnerships team, you will support the management of the Research and Innovation Unit, providing high-quality coordination across research, finance, and project administration to ensure initiatives are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Working closely with researchers, coaches, and partners from universities, industry, and government, you will help transform ideas into practical outcomes that benefit athletes and the broader high-performance system. You will also assist in managing research projects and scholars, maintaining databases and documentation and coordinating events and workshops that share knowledge and showcase innovation. This role is ideal for someone who values collaboration, enjoys variety and is motivated to contribute to meaningful progress in sport.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide high-quality advice and support to Research and Innovation and the broader Partnerships Team on finance, administration, and project services for key initiatives that advance QAS opportunities. Work collaboratively with the team to coordinate and deliver projects, initiatives, and events effectively.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, including universities, industry, government, sporting organisations, coaches, staff, research scholars and athletes. Work collaboratively across these groups to support initiatives, help leverage shared knowledge, expertise and resources, and identify opportunities for staff to engage in research, innovation and strategic partnerships across academic and industry sectors.
• Assist in the preparation and coordination of documentation, including research grant proposals, briefing notes, reports, presentations, research dissemination materials and other correspondence for both internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee the administration of collaborative research projects and scholarship agreements with universities and industry partners, ensuring consultation with legal advisors as required.
• Manage procurement and finance services, including maintaining and tracking budget expenditure, requesting procurement approval and processing invoices, and producing and maintaining purchase orders.
• Assist in creating, planning and organising a range of research and innovation events and activities, including scholar activities, seminars, workshops and presentations to meet the needs of the QAS, sport and university partners.

Other information:
• Shortlisted candidates will be contacted before 22 December 2025.
• Interviews will be held in the weeks of January 12 and January 19, 2026.
