This is a permanent, full-time position and can be performed from any of the following RoadTek office locations; Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Toowoomba, Warwick, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast or Brisbane.

In the role of Principal Advisor (Cultural Heritage Operations) you will provide leadership and subject matter expertise in Cultural Heritage management to the organisation. You will be part of a team supporting RoadTek's delivery of Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) and maintenance projects to meet departmental and government commitments to protect and preserve historic and First Nations people's Cultural Heritage. You will provide leadership and innovation in the sector as well as ensuring RoadTek meets legislative compliance. You will foster and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients including Traditional Owner Groups.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Contribute to the management of RoadTek's First Nations Engagement team.
• Monitor and respond to new and emerging Cultural Heritage issues.
• Build and maintain effective operational relationships with relevant Traditional Owner Groups including supporting the Free Prior Informed Consent Model and effective consultative partnerships with PDO District Cultural Heritage Officers.
• Provide RoadTek operational units with Cultural Heritage advice and recommend solutions in the delivery of TMR activities.
• Lead or co-ordinate consistent processes for Cultural Heritage nonconformance, or incident investigations.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• University degree or other tertiary qualification/equivalent qualification in archaeology, anthropology, social science, or an equivalent qualification that is accepted by the panel.
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
• You will be required to travel to other locations within Queensland to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
• Experience in the Cultural Heritage aspects in construction and maintenance of linear infrastructure.
• Previous experience in a related role.
• Membership of professional bodies e.g., Australian Archaeological Association (AAA)/ ICOMOS, or related discipline.

• Experience in managing relationships between construction and maintenance teams with Traditional Owners.
